m&m's win everytime.

So today, I decided I'd be good but because my lunch was cut short...well, basically as soon as I got home I got called back to work...healthy didn't happen. Luckily, my wonderful husband bought me a foot long for lunch yesterday from subway so I had the other half to grab on the way out....

by the time 3 came around, my energy was fading fast...and I have some m&m's next to my desk...and man, when it's between my self control & m&m's...m&m's win everytime!

but by the time I got home, I was exhausted & starving....so we got a $5 pizza from Little Caesar's... I told drew I think I may have a blood sugar problem or something because by the time I got home from work I had literally NO energy...but as soon as I ate, I was motivated to clean out the refrigerator, do the dishes & start the dishwasher....

lame. maybe it's my eating habits? maybe it's my sleeping habits? maybe it's my caffeine/no water habits? maybe it's all of the above.

any suggestions??? i need healthy snacks/quick but filling breakfast. yesterday, i woke up at 5 when drew woke up to work out so i made myself an omelet & was not starving by lunch time as usual. but i dont have time to make myself omelets everyday....(i prioritize sleep over breakfast prep time) so anyways, today i tried a whole wheat 100 cal english muffin, toasted, with peanut butter & i wasn't STARVING by lunch but I was also so busy I could not remember my name much less my growling stomach....

anyways, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Officially Open for Business...

Well, we are officially open for business folks. We had A LOT of walk-ins tonight. But don't you worry, I cleaned from 8am until 6:15 pm and the only reason I left is because I have been getting too much overtime (the only benefit of not being salary). My feet were killing me & I am exhausted so drew suggested a bubble bath & wine. Good idea. My feet feel so much better and I am so relaxed, I could fall asleep at 7:30..lol.

Our cake was pretty good but kind of freezer burned :( oh well. The reason I haven't posted any recipes lately is because I haven't been cooking...sorry. By the time I get home, and especially if drew's not hungry & I want wine, it's just a Smart Ones for me. lol. So hopefully by this weekend we'll be back on our cooking streak. But for now, opening the hotel has worn me out! :)

I had a friend ask what kind of weights I use for Jillian Michaels & it's only 5lbs. I 'm weak lol. And I haven't done anything since last Wednesday. Hoping tomorrow I can definitely either walk or do the DVD. We've both been so busy that by the time we sit down, we just want to go to bed. Yes, we are 80 years old lol.

P.S. we went and saw The Hangover on Saturday night...if you're into the dirty, raunchy, can quote it again at a later time movie, then I totally recommend it. haha.

P.P.S. Bradley Cooper is extremely good looking haha.

Attempting to adjust

Today was a long day, actually it was a long weekend. Our first weekend here without everything going on and to be honest, it was kind of depressing. I'm used to BBQs and all that fun stuff for memorial day & it was just drew & me. kinda. He did really well by helping me clean but the rest of the time was spent on the xbox. lol. i need to learn how to entertain myself better for sure but I am very lonely.

It's sad because I haven't been much of a "girls girl" until college-ish but i miss talking to girls my age & having friends around. my boss is older & well, drew isn't a girl (i greatly appreciate this lol) but anyways i had a long day & i'm tired so i'm just whining. & I honestly do love being married :)

Ok on to the recipe of the Soy Chicken which I thought was pretty good (drew said it's not near as good re-heated though)

2 Large Skinless Chicken breasts (I used 4 small ones)
2 TBSP Soy Sauce
1 TBSP Orange Juice (it calls for juice from an orange & i'm too lazy)
1/2 TBSP Olive Oil
Pepper
I added Garlic Salt because basically we (my parents) put garlic in everything

Marinate for at least 4 hours.
Bake in marinade at 400F for 20 minutes (check it) and then flip chicken over and cook for 10min.

The frozen chinese style veggies were good with this & brown rice. We have been trying to eat healthier & have been eating frozen broccoli like crazy. We put the frozen broccoli in a pan, cover it with water, bring water to a boil, and boil for 3 minutes. Drain. Add a little butter & garlic salt & voila. Best frozen broccoli I've EVER tasted. and my husband even likes it. lol

I'll save what we ate tonight for another blog because it was very good & very easy.

Hoping tomorrow I wake up with a better attitude. All this rain is killing me smalls.
