hair woes

So I am trying to grow my hair out still. I decided I want to see what it would like if it was long. Usually I am a commitment phobe & can't last long with a hairstyle. but since I am now married, my phobia has left the building lol. Anyways, any suggestions for my hair? Some days it looks just plain flat. This is a pic from a few weeks ago. Only difference is its probably lighter since my hair LOVES the sun & lightens pretty easily. (I dyed my hair dark for the wedding but I wish it would stay dark!) What do you guys use/do for body & pretty hair? Help a girl out whose in the awkward-growing-out-my-hair stage!
